Famous bookstore in Buenos Aires that is built inside on old Theater - El Aterno Grand Splendid
Found some of my favorite books then Dad and I enjoyed some Tostedos jamon y queso and a dulce de leche muffin at the cafe that is located on the old stage. I also found some of my favorite authors.
La Recoleta Cemetery - the famous cemetery in Buenos Aires that has some impressive headstones, tombs and crypts. Don’t worry Dad checked, we don’t have any family buried here. There were spigots in the cemetery - I don’t think I’d like to drink water from there…
Met up with another of Dad’s cousins on his Mom’s side (Graciela). We tried to go on a hop on hop off bus tour around the city but it was full. So we went to a place called Sottovoce for snacks, drinks and desserts (thanks Suzi and Gonzalo for the suggestion). When we went to close out the waiter gave us each a shot of Grapa (some type of hard clear alcohol) - Every time I tried to speak English to a non-native speaker, Dad would say, nope, slower.
After we saw this cool bridge
Then we walked through the Recoleta Market bought a fun souvenir gift
Found my first brewery (Buller Brewing Company). This place was really cool with art and graffiti everywhere. We went to the rooftop and had a beer. It was pretty good. The funny thing was it was all their own beers but the handles were from random places and over half of them were American. There was also Coronado, Green Flash (which went out of business in San Diego but I used to love) & Drakes which is unique to Sacramento. So random.
We then found where my grandmother went to high school (Elsa, my Dad’s mom). Such a cool experience. Also the building across the street might have been the most beautiful building we’ve seen so far
Ended the night at a pizza place around the corner from our house. Best pizza we’ve had so far and a whole bottle of decent wine was only $15. We ended it with a dulce de leche crepe that had crusted sugar on top. It was even better than it sounds.
