Last night before we headed to bed, they told us that there was a weather opening in the morning and to be ready to go in the morning. We were to have our bags packed, checked bags outside our room at 11pm, and to be in our arctic gear ready to go at 7:30am.
We were very excited and woke up early. We left the room to go down to breakfast at 6am in our waterproof gear and big rubber boots, and our checked bags were gone. 👍 . However, when we having breakfast, we were told that we were delayed at least a couple of hours. Hurry up and wait.
By 10:30am, we realized that our opportunity window was closing, and by noon, they told us we wouldn’t be flying today. As we were going back to our room to change out of our gear, we saw them unloading our check-bags from the truck. That was hard.
But we had a beer to ease the pain.
As was the case the other days, the tour company (NatGeo | Lindblad) arranged an excursion for us. First, they took us to lunch at a local restaurant and gave us a short walking tour of the town.
We were then taken to an “Estanza” (farm) where we were shown some traditional Chilean gaucho garb, dances, and horsemanship. They also gave us a demonstration of the sheep dogs herding sheep.
Of course, the only thing Michelle wanted to do was pet the dogs. 😁
When returned we heard the more standard update for tomorrow of, “they haven’t said no yet.”

Your mom said you will be home today😢so sorry the cruise was cancelled Michelle but sounds like you still had a blast!
